Victim Relief Ministries red and blue bannerDecember 26 was a tornado day in N. Texas with the majority of devastation in Rowlett, TX. TX Baptist Men and VRM (Victim Relief Ministries) operated out of the FB Church Rowlett serving the community with Trauma and Crisis Counseling as well as Prayer. This went on towards the end of January.

The weather service stated that we might have a rainy spring and so far VRM has responded to floods East of Houston, TX that has affected over 4000 homes destroying around 1000 homes in that area. FEMA and Red Cross used VRM several times in shelters and manning service areas that they did not have the manpower to run. There were deployments to other areas as well in February and March. There were several major accidents that we have responded to as well. If the rain continues we will probably be called out more as Spring Rains continue.

Suicides, murders and house fires were very active in Collin County area with 3 to 4 response per week. Callouts in Grand Prairie have also active. Also in Grand Prairie we served the GP Police Dept at Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool during Easter Weekend. Supporting the Police with food and refreshments and also walking around the Park watching for distressed individuals.

Future:
Deployments to Lynn Creek Park (Joe Pool Lake): for Mother’s Day and Memorial weekend.
Future flood deployments for possible for potential tornado destruction areas.
Continued responses for call outs for Death Notifications, suicides, murders etc.
